The main power window switch controls all functions of the other windows. It's located on the driver's side, and its connecting wires are prone to damage from spilled beverages or rain when the driver's side window is open. When damage results, a new power window main switch is necessary, which costs less than $20 for the Porsche 928. Figure 4.

I'm installing new (URO) window switches. The colors of the wires are different for two of the wires and the soldered connections on the back of the switch are slightly different, so it's not 100% clear which wire connects to what. The wiring harness has red, brown, black and green wires and the new switch has red, brown, blue and yellow wires.

1. both windows run on the same power and fused by one fuse only. The other worked, so, fuse is ok. 2. open the center console pass. side (2 screws) and check for broken wires. Use a voltmeter or test lamp to check the operation of the up/down toggle switch. You should be able to see the switch put 12v on the outgoing power cables to the motor.
